La historia

Ana espera el autobús cerca de su casa. Lleva su celular en la mano. Hay una panadería pequeña junto a la parada. Ve a Mario llegar. Mario la mira y sonríe poco.

Mario envía un mensaje de audio a Ana. Ella no responde. Ana piensa: "¿Mario está molesto conmigo?" Ella está triste y baja la cabeza. Mario se acerca y habla primero.

Mario pregunta: "¿Puedes escuchar mi mensaje?" Ana abre mucho los ojos. Ana dice: "No puedo escuchar tu mensaje. Mi celular no tiene batería. No puedo responder."

Mario pregunta: "¿Estás molesta conmigo?" Ana responde: "No estoy molesta contigo." Mario dice: "Yo tampoco estoy molesto contigo." Mario ríe un poco. Ana también ríe. Los dos están contentos.

El autobús llega con ruido. Mario le da una arepa pequeña. Es un pan de maíz. Ana sonríe y dice: "Gracias." Ana dice: "Hablamos esta noche." Suben al autobús juntos.

3 · English Translation

The full story in English

Ana waits for the bus near her house. She carries her cell phone in her hand. There is a small bakery beside the stop. She sees Mario arrive. Mario looks at her and smiles a little.

Mario sends Ana an audio message. She does not answer. Ana thinks: "Is Mario upset with me?" She is sad and lowers her head. Mario comes closer and speaks first.

Mario asks: "Can you listen to my message?" Ana opens her eyes wide. Ana says: "I cannot listen to your message. My cell phone has no battery. I cannot reply."

Mario asks: "Are you upset with me?" Ana answers: "I am not upset with you." Mario says: "I am not upset with you either." Mario laughs a little. Ana also laughs. Both are happy.

The bus arrives noisily. Mario gives her a small arepa. It is a type of corn bread. Ana smiles and says: "Thank you." Ana says: "We'll talk tonight." They get on the bus together.
