La propuesta que casi se perdió
The proposal that almost got lost

No estaba molesta.

The full story in English
On Monday morning, Julia arrived at the office with two coffees and the idea of finishing the proposal before noon. Her team had been working on that project for a week for a big client. Everything seemed under control, although the phone would not stop ringing and small urgent matters were piling up on the table. Julia took a deep breath and opened her computer with confidence.
Then she saw an email she did not understand at first. The message said that the file had arrived at another address. Julia frowned. She checked the sent folder and felt a punch in the stomach. The final document was not where it should have been. Apparently, she had sent it to the wrong contact the night before, when she was already tired and wanted to go home.
"That can't be," she murmured. Her colleague Marcos looked up from the table and asked her to show him the email. After reading it, he took a deep breath and said, "We can still fix it. First we call that person and then we send the correct version." Julia nodded, although she felt embarrassed. She thought that if she had checked one more time, none of that would have happened.
Julia dialed the number immediately, but nobody answered. She decided to leave a short and clear message. She explained the mistake, apologized, and said that she would send the correct file in a few minutes. When she hung up, she tried to concentrate, but her mind was elsewhere. Marcos, luckily, reviewed each page with her one more time and found a detail that could cause doubts in the meeting.
At eleven thirty, the person on the other side finally answered. She was not angry. In fact, she thanked Julia for her honesty and said that she had also received earlier versions from other offices, so everything could be fixed. That comment took weight off the atmosphere. Julia smiled for the first time that morning and felt that the day could still end well.
Before the meeting, Marcos handed her a USB memory stick with the correct file. "Next time, we check the recipient together," he said calmly. Julia laughed and replied: "Yes, please. Today I learned my lesson." A few minutes later, they sent the correct proposal and breathed easy. The client arrived on time and the meeting began better than Julia had imagined.
