La primera clase en línea
The First Online Class
Elena lived in Maracay and made cakes to sell. On Saturday she had a different activity. She was going to teach a cooking class online. Four people hoped to learn an easy recipe from their homes.
Before the class she decided to do a test with her brother Luis. She put the computer on the table. Luis watched the image on his cell phone. He could see Elena's hands and all the ingredients.
At ten the four students appeared on the screen. Elena said her name out loud. Nobody answered. One student wrote a message: "We can see the kitchen clearly, but we can't hear anything."
Elena looked at the cables and checked the computer. Everything seemed fine. Then she realized what the problem was. The microphone button was red. She tapped it and asked: "Can you hear me now?". The students answered together.
After that the class continued without problems. Elena explained each step and showed the mixture to the camera. One student was making a cake for the first time. He had several questions and Elena answered calmly.
At the end everyone showed their cakes. Elena smiled in front of the screen. She had solved the problem without help. For the next class she wrote a note beside the computer: "Check picture and sound."
