Elizabeth conoce a Wickham, un soldado simpático. Él dice que Darcy lo trata mal, y ella le cree. Bingley se va y Jane está triste. Más tarde, Darcy pide a Elizabeth que se case con él. Habla también de la posición inferior de su familia. Ella dice que no.

Darcy le da una carta. Explica que separó a Bingley de Jane porque no veía amor en ella. Sin embargo, Jane ocultaba sus sentimientos. Darcy también cuenta que Wickham quiso huir con su hermana joven por dinero. Elizabeth lee otra vez. Empieza a cambiar de opinión sobre los dos hombres.

Elizabeth meets Wickham, a friendly soldier. He says Darcy treats him badly, and she believes him. Bingley leaves, and Jane is sad. Later, Darcy asks Elizabeth to marry him. He also speaks of her family’s lower position. She says no.

Darcy gives her a letter. He explains that he separated Bingley from Jane because he saw no love in her. However, Jane was hiding her feelings. Darcy also says that Wickham wanted to elope with his young sister for money. Elizabeth reads again. She begins to change her opinion of the two men.
