One night, Jim climbs into a barrel to find an apple. He hears Silver’s voice and stays still. Fortunately, nobody sees him. Silver talks about stealing the treasure and attacking the men loyal to the captain. Jim understands that the cook is a pirate. He is afraid, but listens.
Jim warns Captain Smollett in time. When they reach the island, the two groups already distrust each other. Jim goes ashore and finds Ben Gunn, a man abandoned there years ago. Jim’s friends seek shelter in a fort. Now they must protect themselves from Silver and his men.
